The project:
Reusing batteries to make power banks.
Huge numbers of batteries are thrown away or recycled even though they could be reused while still in good condition.
LIOVA is an open source project.
Which batteries?
Household batteries from digital devices, such as smartphones, laptops or power tools.
We reuse batteries that are still in good condition and keep a good capacity.

Maker? Build your own LIOVA
Want to give smartphone batteries a second life? Download the LIOVA 3D files for free.
With a 3D printer (at a fablab, for example) and a few components, you can assemble a responsible, affordable and durable power bank yourself.
To build your LIOVA, follow the instructions below:
Handle lithium-ion batteries with care: only use intact, non-swollen batteries.
Partner company
We work with Phoner, a company specialised in repairing and refurbishing smartphones.
Phoner would be ready to sell LIOVA in its stores, and to handle assembly and labour.
